With Survivor Series on the horizon, the WWE has been looking to shore up its final plans heading into its huge WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view April 6 emanating live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and while it has gone back-and-forth on some of the plans involving the Undertaker, the WWE is reportedly still in pursuit of signing Sting and Bill Goldberg to appear at the event.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the WWE still wants to sign Sting, whose contract with TNA expires at the end of this year, to take on the Undertaker in an epic battle. The WWE has tried unsuccessfully in the past to land Sting, and he remains the one top WCW Superstar that Vince McMahon and the WWE has failed to be able to sign since WCW closed its doors back in 2001.

With Sting's contract expiring and TNA reportedly floundering financially, the WWE will hope that those elements will lead to Sting finally crossing over to the WWE for a big-draw showdown against the Undertaker and his legendary 21-0 WrestleMania undefeated streak in New Orleans. If the WWE is unable to land sting, The Wrestling Observer reports that Brock Lesnar will clash with the Undertaker as the rumored backup match at the big show.

Another rumored name for a return at the WWE's biggest show of the year is Bill Goldberg, who left WWE a decade ago shortly after an infamous match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX at Madison Square Garden in 2004.

The WWE is hopeful to bring in Goldberg to take on Ryback in a big man match at the event as Ryback has drawn some similarities to Goldberg with fans chanting "Goldberg" at Ryback to mock him. Reports also indicated that Ryback started doing some Goldberg moves at WWE house shows lately to further hint at a match, though it has been reported that the WWE was unhappy with Ryback for doing those moves without permission.

Goldberg said via his Twitter account last month that there was "no chance in hell" of him taking on the Undertaker at WrestleMania when a user asked him if WWE COO Triple H would book him in a match against 'Taker at WrestleMania. When another user asked about rumors surfacing of him and Sting partaking in the event, he said, "Sting maybe...Me not likely," in response to the user.

Still, Goldberg could be playing coy with his followers. The Wrestling Observer reports that if Goldberg doesn't come back to the WWE, Ryback will take on The Big Show instead.

While WWE's plans are anything but set in stone, the fact that they keep reaching out to old stars means that the company is hopeful to make WrestleMania 30 an event to remember when it takes place on April 6 in New Orleans.
