There are many predictions coming regarding Samsung's next flagship phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 8. According to various reports, a codename used by the company for its upcoming smartphone is "Baikal".

As written in Droid Report, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8's codename was posted on Twitter, Instagram and Weibo F.Y.I. Weibo is China's most popular microblogging site. The name "Baikal" is derived from the deepest lake in the world with a depth of 5,314 feet found in southern Siberia called Lake Baikal.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have a 4K screen for better VR experience. Samsung will introduce its virtual assistant Bixby, powered by AI, as reported by Sam Mobile.

It is speculated that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and 6 GB RAM. It will introduce a dual-lens camera and iris scanner for the first time in Samsung smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would have a 6.2-inch dual-edged curved display like Galaxy S7 Edge. Note 8 would have a bezel-less design like Xiaomi Mi Mix.

Samsung is trying hard to improve its image that was damaged by Note 7. 2016 was the worst year for Samsung. The company had to permanently discontinue its Note 7 after many explosion reports. For some time, it raised a question of Samsung Galaxy Note 8's future.

As stated in NDTV 360°, the debacle caused Samsung to take a hit of around $5 billion since the third quarter. However, the company refused the false reports of discontinuing the Note series so fans were worried about Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Electronics giant revealed the results of Note 7's battery fault last month.

According to a survey, 40 percent of Samsung's existing users won't buy another phone from the brand. As previously expected, Samsung will not release its phone at the MWC 2017. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would debut on March 29, 2017.
