Fans of Angelina Jolie are eagerly anticipating what's the next big film project she'll be making, as the "Maleficent" star has been focusing more on smaller projects and directing. Aside from directing and starring in small roles, Angelina Jolie has also been busy focusing on her nasty divorce with her estranged husband Brad Pitt. But now, fans might not wait that much longer as Angelina Jolie is set to make a comeback in Disney's "Maleficent 2".

Angelina Jolie is once again set to return in "Maleficent 2" as Disney announced on Monday that they want her to come back as the powerful fairy Maleficent, according to a report from Movie Web. "Maleficent 2" is the latest live-action film project that Disney is set to produce. Disney has so far been successful in with live-action remakes of their classic tales.

"Maleficent 2" is set to follow the footsteps of previous Disney live-action remakes like "Alice In Wonderland", "Alice In Wonderland 2", "The Jungle Book", "Oz The Great And Powerful", "Maleficent" and this year's "Beauty And The Beast". Casting Angelina Jolie again to play the part of Maleficent is a no brainer for Disney. Angelina Jolie seems perfect for the part and she did a magnificent job in "Maleficent".

"Maleficent" was huge hit back in 2014, grossing an impressive $758 million worldwide. But despite its box-office success, "Maleficent" only got middling reviews from critics with only Angelina Jolie the only high point of the film, via a report from The Telegraph. Never the less, Disney still decided to push thru with "Maleficent 2" owing to the box-office success of "Maleficent".

No other details were released by Disney about "Maleficent 2" aside from Angelina Jolie coming back to reprise her role in the first "Maleficent" film. Screenwriter Linda Woolverton, who did the screenwriting for "Maleficent", will also be back for "Maleficent 2".
