Lotus Cars have been manufacturing high-quality sports cars since 1952. The British automaker has produced the Esprit, Elan, Europa and Elise sports cars. Lotus Cars, with its Team Lotus, has also been a staple in Formula One races. This year, Lotus Cars have once again produced another classic sports car in the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410. The Lotus Evora 410 is an updated version of the Lotus Evora Sport 400 and will be available to the market in 2018.

If car enthusiasts will notice some familiarities between the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 and the original and iconic Lotus Esprit S1, they are spot on with their observations. Lotus Cars have revealed that the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 was built as a tribute to the original Lotus Esprit S1, according to a report from Auto World News.

The Lotus Esprit S1 was launched in 1975 at the Paris Auto Show and went into production in 1976. When the Lotus Esprit S1 was used in the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" in 1977, the car quickly gained fame and has become an iconic car ever since. With the launching of the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410, Lotus Cars hope it can honor the legacy of the Lotus Esprit S1.

"So many of us recall the impact of the Lotus Esprit when it hit the big screen in "The Spy Who Loved Me" and we wanted to honor that with a special Evora Sport 410." Lotus Cars CEO Jean-Marc Gales said.

Being a tribute car, the design of the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 was influenced by the Lotus Esprit S1. The Lotus Evora Sport 410 has a 3.5-liter, 6-cylinder engine and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Lotus Cars have recently been gaining profit ever since Jean-Marc Gales took over as CEO back in 2013. As a result of the profit gain, Lotus Cars has plans of launching an SUV and a new Elise, via a report from Top Gear.
