Carmelo Anthony has been involved in many NBA trade rumors this season but he's still a member of the New York Knicks at the moment. However, it might not be long before the Knicks trade him and he waives his no-trade clause.

One of the teams heavily linked to Anthony is the Boston Celtics. A recent action by the Celtics on social media fueled the NBA trade rumors of the Knicks star moving to Boston. According to John Healy of the New York Daily News, the Celtics started to follow Anthony on Instagram with the trade deadline just days away.

Fans are now excited to know if the NBA trade rumors will come true with Anthony joining the Celtics and possibly forming a "Big 3" with Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford. A trio like that can give the Celtics a chance to dethrone the defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers in the East.

It should be noted that these are just NBA trade rumors and the Celtics following Anthony means nothing at this point. However, teams are surely on alert after the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings pulled off a blockbuster but a lopsided deal on Monday, and they want to top that.

The NBA trade deadline is just days away and the Celtics know that they have a window of opportunity with the Cavaliers limping into the second half of the season. Kevin Love and J.R. Smith are out with injuries, which means LeBron James and Kyrie Irving will not get their usual minutes reduction before the playoffs.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, the Celtics are the perfect trade partner for the Knicks if they want to move Anthony. He pointed out that both teams, as well as Anthony, will benefit from a possible trade.

The Knicks gets to build around Kristaps Porzingis while acquiring assets for their 32-year-old All-Star. On the other hand, the Celtics get their third All-Star to challenge the Cavaliers while also keeping their picks from the Brooklyn Nets.

As for Anthony, his brand won't be affected if he moves to Boston. He'll also like the prospect of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals this season while also playing alongside a potential first overall pick next year.

Nevertheless, these are still NBA trade rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt. Anthony still has to waive his no-trade clause and the Celtics are also linked to superstars such as Paul George of the Indiana Pacers and Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls.
