In 2012, Disney purchased Lucas Films, and in turn, the rights to the "Star Wars" franchise. They later announced an additional six "Star Wars" movies to be released from 2016 to 2020. The films include a new trilogy which continues the events of the existing six movies, as well as three anthology films. The first of the six films was released in December 2016 and was entitled "The Force Awakens".

The story of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" takes place 30 years after "Return of the Jedi" where a new evil has emerged in the wake of the empire. Luke Skywalker has gone into exile and Leah, who is now a general in a resistance force, searches for her brother. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill reprised their roles as Han, Leah, and Luke for this reboot, however, Hamill only saw a few seconds of screen time and had no lines. That meager role was something that almost made him hesitant about accepting the role once more, according to Cinemablend's report.

The second movie in the trilogy is set to come out in December of this year and has been entitled "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi". The movie will continue where the previous one left off, as Rey finds Luke Skywalker on the planet of Ahch-To. According to a report by Express, YouTuber Mike Zeroh has revealed he learned from a reliable source that Hamil is set to have around 35 percent of screen time in the upcoming movie. This is close to how much screen time Harrison Ford got for the previous film.

Mark Hamill is once again set to play the role of Luke Skywalker, and now, with the way the story has progressed, it is only reasonable that he gets more screen time compared to the previous movie. The story will now focus on the return of Luke Skywalker in the Rebellion's fight against the First Order. In another report by Express, it is revealed that the first look at the teaser, trailer, clips or any behind-the-scenes footage of the new movie will be in April at the "Star Wars" Celebration in Orlando.
