Lucas Matthysse Next Fight Adrien Broner? 'Machine' Open To Fighting 'Problem' But Predicts Marcos Maidana Victory [VIDEO]

Lucas "The Machine" Matthysse may have dropped his most recent fight to Danny Garcia in September, but that hasn't stopped fight fans from wondering when they will get to see the knockout artist again.

According to reports, Matthysse is hoping to step back into the ring in March, but it is unclear who his next opponent will be. There are several options for the power punching Argentinian fighter, but the biggest name potentially on the board is Adrien "The Problem" Broner.

Broner is facing fellow Argentine Marcos Maidana on December 14th, but has previously stated he'd be willing to go toe-to-toe with Matthysse. During the buildup to his fight with Garcia, Matthysse indicated willingness to take on the brash welterweight champ.

"No problem, he doesn't have to move too many divisions to fight me. I'm here," Matthysse said through an interpreter. "But I don't think he's going to get past Maidana. I think he's going to get what he deserves versus Maidana."

These comments were made in August, prior to Matthysse's loss against Garcia, but due to his popularity he remains a viable opponent for Broner. "The Problem's" biggest problem right now, though, is wading through myriad distractions on his way to December 14th, when he's set to take on Maidana.

Broner has dealt with the leak of a sex tape, and issues with his weight during the promotions for his bout. His comments have shown a lack of respect to the threat Maidana poses.

"I'm a Ferrari and he's a go-kart and my fans will see that in my return to Texas. It's been over four years since I've fought there and I'm going to put on a show. Watch me light Maidana up like a Christmas tree on Dec. 14," Broner boasted.

Maidana feels differently, though, and expressed the same confidence his countryman Matthysse did. "[Broner] is going to be on the ropes a lot I'll tell you that. He better prepare himself because he's going to be on the ropes a lot," Maidana's trainer Joel Diaz said.
