Daniel Cormier to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 210. MMA fighting between these two is confirmed in Buffalo on April 8. This will be the first event there in Buffalo for 22 years.

These two were scheduled to rematch at UFC 206 last month in Toronto but the defending champion was forced to withdraw from the fight because of his groin injury. Champion Cormier announced the news on "UFC Tonight" this Wednesday.

Cormier told MMAFighting, "I want to let the great fans that bought tickets for UFC 206 in Toronto that this one is for you." Ninety-nine miles is as close as I could get to make it up to you. That was very important to me. Thank you for the support, and I'll see you in Buffalo." Back in May 2015, Daniel Cormier defeated Anthony Johnson and became the light heavyweight champion at UFC 187.

Cormier has a record of 18-1 while on the other side, Johnson has a record of 22-5. Recently, Johnson knocked out Glover Teixeira in just 13 seconds at UFC 202 in August 2016. He has won three fights in a row after his loss to Cormier.

As written in Express, the first bout between these two was an epic battle. Johnson has knocked out his last three opponents, put Cormier on the canvas in the very first round. The two-time Olympic wrestler recovered and took the fight to the ground where he won by rear naked choke in the second.

Jones missed the light heavyweight title before the first fight between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson after his involvement in a hit-and-run case. He was tested positive for banned substance and currently serving a ban.

Jones will be eligible to return on July 9 and is expected to be given the opportunity to win his title back by facing the winner of Cormier vs Johnson battle.
