Desperate to maintain a relationship with his year-old daughter, Aaron Hernandez talks with her over the phone nearly every day, according to TMZ.com.
The website reports the jailed former New England Patriots tight end is intent on making certain his daughter knows who he is and speaks with her as much as he can during his one hour of phone privileges each day.
The 23-year-old former Florida star remains held at the Bristol County House of Corrections without bail and relegated to solitary confinement on first-degree murder charges stemming from the June 17 killing of semi-pro football player and one-time associate Odin Lloyd.
TMZ reports even though Avielle Janelle doesn't say much during their father/daughter bonding sessions, Hernandez was on the phone with her the first time she said the word "daddy" about two months ago. Both Hernandez and his daughter share the same Nov. 6 birthday and spent all their time together that day on the phone with one another.
Police have speculated Hernandez may have gunned down Lloyd because he had information about other crimes he may have been involved in. A second grand jury is still currently investigating Hernandez's potential involvement in a 2012 drive-by, double-slaying in Boston.
