Joel Embiid has shown this season that he is worth the two-year wait. He recently helped the Philadelphia 76ers to their biggest win of the season on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. After a great performance, will "The Process" be named an All-Star this season?

Although Embiid was drafted by the Sixers in 2014, he is considered a rookie because he missed the first two seasons of his career with foot injuries. In his first season, the Cameroonian center is averaging 19.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.4 blocks in just 25.4 minutes per game.

Those are All-Star numbers but will it be enough to make him one? First, rookies rarely play in the NBA All-Star Game. Only a handful of first-year players has ever done it with the last one being Blake Griffin back in 2011, per NBA.

The fans certainly have a say in who gets to be a starter but coaches, players and the media vote on the reserves. Winning is one of the factors looked into the voting and the Sixers are surprisingly getting it done this season.

After a bad start to the season, the Sixers have won seven games out of their past ten that included a four-game winning streak. Even though their record is an ugly 14-26, they have a chance in making the playoffs since the eighth seed is just five and a half games away.

According to James Herbert of CBS Sports, Embiid has boosted his chances of making the 2017 NBA All-Star Game as an All-Star with a big performance against the Raptors. He scored 26 points, grabbed nine rebounds, registered two assists and blocked two shots.

"The Process" is also making his case known on social media thru the #NBAVote campaign. He has emerged as an entertaining player off the court which makes him appealing to fans. Some have even called him the second coming of Shaq, in terms of entertaining a crowd.

Embiid is already a shoe-in to make an appearance at All-Star Weekend as part of the Rookie-Sophomore game. However, he also deserves being named one of the twelve NBA All-Star for the Eastern Conference.
