The Miami Heat season is in jeopardy as they continue to slide down the NBA Eastern Conference standing as of late. Recent reports are floating that they might pursue DeMarcus Cousins and try to acquire him from the Sacramento Kings before the trade deadline ends.

For the past years, the Heat are once a dominating team in the league when LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh join forces from 2010-2014. During that time, they were able to bring the Heat to four straight NBA Finals where they won 2 NBA Championship trophy. But now, James and Wade left the team while Bosh wasn't able to play because of his health condition leaving no "big time" superstar to lead them.

On the other hand, Cousins have been dragged to numerous trade deals since last year. His frankness about his discontented feelings towards the situation of the Kings is the reason he had frequent arguments with top Kings officials. Though Kings officials are not openly shopping Boogie, earlier reports revealed that they are secretly making a move to transfer Cousins to other teams.

Given that the Heat badly needs an able superstar to help them to get back on track this season, one report suggests that a trade deal between the Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings could be plausible for both teams. According to FOXSports, since the Kings are considering of trading Cousins, a proposed trade deal with the Heat could be a viable option for them.

NBA trade scenario is suggesting that the Kings will send DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi to the Heat in exchange for Goran Dragic, Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson and a future pick. And since the Heat is also thinking of moving Dragic, this could be an appropriate time for both teams to make the deal happen and give them the needed boost on their roster.

Having Cousins on their roster will further shore up the lineup for the Heat. Playing him alongside Hassan Whiteside will definitely give the Heat a formidable and scary frontcourt to build on. Meanwhile, the Kings will also benefit from this trade as it will give them a superb point guard in Dragic that they wished for while Winslow and Richardson will be an added depth for them.

The trade will also work under NBA trade and salary cap rules making it a legal deal for both teams as per checking with ESPN NBA Trade Machine. It is now in the hands of the Miami Heat if they are serious about acquiring DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings before the NBA trade deadline expires.
