The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing very well in the ongoing regular season. Currently, they are at the top of the Eastern Conference standing holding a 28-8 win-loss record. But recent reports are suggesting that they should consider of bringing in Rajon Rondo and make a deal with the Chicago Bulls to acquire him as trade deadline nears.

The Cavs still have a formidable roster with three NBA superstars LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love leading the charge for them. But many believed that they still lack depth on their second unit most especially an able backup for Irving in the point guard spot. Since they traded Matthew Dellavedova last summer, they only got Kay Felder as a substitute for Irving.

On the other hand, Rajon Rondo have been the hot topic of rumor mills as of late. Earlier reports are saying that the experiment of Bulls to him didn't make wonders for them. And just recently, he was designated to the bench that seem to be signifying that the Bulls are done on him and they are ready to move on without him.

Forbes also reported earlier that Rajon Rondo could be one of the superstar that might be dealt at the February trade deadline. The former 4-time NBA All-Star had a meeting with Bulls General Manager Gar Forman and Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson and he said that there wasn't a 'clear-cut message' on him and they'll talk again about his role on the team.

However, Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg appears to be comfortable playing Michael Carter-Williams and Jerian Grant as his backcourt personnel indicating that Rondo may be move to another team as per stated in the report. And possible suitor for him is the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to Sportsrageous, Rondo is said to be one of the point guards under the radar of the Cavs. LeBron James earlier stated that to strengthen their chances of defending the title, they should continue to improve and get a reliable point guard. And Rondo is viable option for them.

The reports also says that the Cavs will surely benefit having Rondo's ability to be a steady playmaker and upgrade the second unit for them. He is also an ideal substitute for Irving having a vast experience of being a point guard for teams he has played.

Will the Cleveland Cavaliers be able to get Rajon Rondo before the NBA trade deadline expires?
