Tre Mason has had myriad bizarre off-field incidents this offseason and his mother believes football is to blame for his terrible mental health.

The Rams running back has been involved in a lot of legal trouble this offseason, which includes police visiting him five times over a four-month span due to odd behavior he exhibited, which has had many people worried about his mental state.

On July 23, cops came to Mason's house after he was "acting unusual and making irrational statements" toward his mother, who called the police after growing concerned.

Upon their arrival, the police report indicates that Mason made such outlandish comments as threatening to call the White House and have them all fired, while also making references to Al Qaeda.

Four days later, cops cited the former SEC Offensive Player of the Year for illegally riding his ATV around his neighborhood. They then brought him to his mother where she laid some truth down on them.

Footage obtained by TMZ Sports shows the cops saying Mason is too busy "f--king around" and "should be playing football."

That's when his mother revealed her concern for his mental health and her belief that football is the root of the problem.

"No, he actually shouldn't," his mother said in the video obtained by TMZ Sports, "because this is the [side of] football that nobody knows about. He's 22 in a 10-year-old's mindset right now ... Tre's not himself at all."

Mason's mother said he began showing signs of bad mental health following the 2015 Rams season. The now Los Angeles-based franchise hasn't heard from the running back since 2015 and they reportedly don't expect to.

Her concern for her son's mental health was echoed by police in the report of the July 23 incident and the cops even had him evaluated, stating it was clear he couldn't make decisions for himself.

The Rams went 7-9 last season -- their final campaign in St. Louis -- and missed the playoffs for the 11th straight year.

Mason, who turned 23 on Aug. 6, rushed for 207 yards on 75 carries and had one touchdown in 13 games last season and three starts.
