Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Nashville Predators (8-5-2, 18 points) and Winnipeg Jets (6-9-2, 14 points) hit the ice at MTS Centre for the third of five meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Nashville fans can hear all tha hard-hitting action by tuning into WPRT-FM The Game while Winnipeg fans can do the same on TSN 1290.
Nashville has gotten the best of Winnipeg in the first two meetings, taking a 3-1 victory on the road on Oct. 20 before notching a win in Nashville four days later by a score of 3-2 in overtime. Nashville has scored four goals in three straight games to show its knack for lighting the lamp.
The Predator's latest win was a thrilling one as Nashville handed the Colorado Avalanche just their second loss of the season with a 6-4 victory.
"It was a big win here, coach Barry Trotz said via NHL.com. "This is an extremely good team with some dangerous guys and we were able to keep them at bay. They got some good looks, but not enough. Our forwards were really good tonight. They got challenged a little bit and they responded."
Nashville's scoring has been led by David Legwand, who has scored three goals and four assists in his last three games for a team-high 14 points off of four goals and a team-leading 10 assists, and Patric Hornqvist who has lit the lamp four times and added six assists for 10 points.
Winnipeg fell 4-3 on the road to the Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday and has dropped seven of nine games.
"We've given up nine goals in two games [to the Blackhawks]. Do we need to give up another four or five the next time to recognize this is what they can do?" coach Claude Noel said after the game, according to NHL.com. "I understand we're not perfect, but those things hurt you. Your puck management has to be great."
If Winnipeg is to get its scoring going, the team will turn to Bryan Little and Andrew Ladd. Little leads the team with 13 points off of a team-high eight goals and five assists Ladd has 12 points while lighting the lamp four times and adding eight helpers.
Winnipeg will likely try to beat Carter Hutton, as Pekka Rinne is out with an injury. Hutton is 4-1-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .808 save percentage. Ondrej Pavelec has started 13 of 18 games for Winnipeg while posting a 4-7-2 record with a 3.09 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
The Predators will look to keep their scoring touch intact while the Jets hope to bounce back from a rough loss two nights ago when the teams hit the ice at the MTS Centre tonight.
