Aaron Hernandez spent his 24th birthday locked away in solitary confinement, still awaiting trial on the first-degree murder charges he faces in the Odin Lloyd killing.
According to TMZ, there was no cake, no party, no presents and even no acknowledgement of the former New England Patriots tight end's milestone , as he sat still housed at the Bristol County House of Corrections.
The website adds the time was probably even more difficult for Hernandez, given that his year old-daughter's birthday falls just one day before.
Hernandez was arrested and formally charged in Lloyd's killing on June 26, after his bullet riddled body was found discarded in an industrial park not far from his North Attleborough mansion. Police have speculated Hernandez may have been motivated to target Lloyd because he had information about other violent crimes he's alleged to have been involved with.
Hernandez is now also the subject of an ongoing grand jury probe related to the unsolved, drive-by, double-slaying of two men outside a Boston nightclub in 2012. Authorities have reported the vehicle believed to be involved in the crime was discovered parked in the garage of a home rented in the name of Hernandez's uncle.
