Kordell Stewart is insisting his reality TV wife's late night partying is what led to their divorce and not her allegations that he may be gay.
According to Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Stewart told DJ Ryan Cameron this week "I promise you on my life in everything that I'm part of, including my son and my father who's no longer here, that has never happened nor will anything ever come up, ever come up, with no dude about me and nothing."
During last Sunday's premiere episode of her "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reality show, Porsha Stewart insisted "there were times when she felt her husband did not want her physically" and that made her wonder about his sexuality.
The former NFL star instead maintains it was his wife's late carousing that lead to many of their issues.
"When my son asked me these few times, I have to figure out how do I make him understand what's going on," Stewart told Sister to Sister of his wife frequently being away from their home. "He doesn't deserve to have to deal with that when there are two parents at home. If anything, we should be eating dinner together, finding a way to get it done or making sure that when the kid goes to bed that you go in there and check on the kid. Kiss him goodnight, even if it's three in the morning."
Stewart added when he approached his wife with his concerns, she stressed she was embracing her independence and responded with attitude, telling him that she was an adult who could come and go as she pleased.
"I ain't never had this gangsta talk to me from my woman before from the standpoint of you're doing your thing, but it's supposed to be about the household," Stewart told Sister 2 Sister. "When you come out of your mouth and show that type of disrespect, you don't know how much that burned me up inside."
Still, Stewart maintains he only formally filed for divorce after his wife taunted him to the point of doing so. "When your wife look you in your face and tell you to file for divorce and the only reason she's not filing is because she don't have the money and she don't have nothing to lose...are you kidding me?" he said.
Stewart said the last straw for him was his ex's treatment of his young son, including not allowing him to have a birthday party at the home they shared.
"I have love in my heart for what I remembered about Porsha," Stewart told the magazine. "I love her so much that where she is, she's going to stay," he said. "She's not coming back over here. There's nothing here for her to get or I want at all."
