Milwaukee police are investigating Bucks forward Larry Sanders alleged involvement in a bar fight that is at last partly responsible for him being held at out the team's Wednesday night game against Cleveland.

According to ESPN, Sanders was at popular downtown club Saturday night when the incident occurred. The website added Sanders was involved in the brawl and several people sustained injuries.

Initially coach Larry Drew announced that Sanders would not play against the Cavs because of a sore thumb, but later admitted his star forward was also being held out because of an off-court incident that is "under investigation."

"I have not seen him yet tonight]," Drew added. "I don't know much more. You probably know more than I do. I do know that it is being investigated and that's the word I've got."

The team also later released a formal statement that stated "we are aware of an incident from Saturday evening. The matter is under investigation and Larry Sanders is cooperating fully. At this time, we have no further comment."

The Bucks signed the 24-year-old Sanders to a four-year, $44 million contract extension over the summer. Over the team's first three games, he's averaging just 2.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18 minutes per game. Last season, he averaged 9.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.83 blocks.
