Bryce Harper doesn't just hit doubles on the field.

The Nationals outfielder is engaged -- for the second time -- to his high school sweetheart Kayla Varner. Fresh off of winning the "Best MLB Player" honor at the 24th annual ESPY Awards on Wednesday, Harper was pictured holding the hardware while standing next to Varner.

The girlfriend of the reigning National League MVP wrote in the caption of the picture that they are once again engaged to be married. The couple was originally set to marry in January 2015, but it never came to fruition -- leading to speculation that the pair had split up.

Harper also took to his own Instagram page to post a picture of himself with the award and Varner by his side:

The young outfielder may not be putting up the gaudy numbers he did last season when he won the MVP, but he owns a respectable .256/.399/.491 slash line with 19 homers, 52 RBIs and 50 runs entering the second half of the season.

Washington enters the second half with a 54-36 overall record. The Nationals own a six-game lead over the Mets and Marlins, who both entered the All-Star break with identical 47-41 records.

The Nationals open up the second half by hosting the Pirates in a three-game set in Washington, D.C., starting Friday night.

Harper, 23, played in his fourth All-Star Game this past Tuesday as the National League fell to the American League, 4-2, at Petco Park in San Diego.
