Carlos Gonzalez doesn't want to be traded after all.

After reports surfaced claiming the Rockies outfielder was interested in being dealt out of Colorado, the slugger jumped to the defensive saying he doesn't wants to remain where he is ahead of the Aug. 1 deadline.

"I got a call this morning from Scott Boras, my agent, asking me what happened," Gonzalez said via the Denver Post. "I was surprised because I didn't know what was up. I guess there was a story in a newspaper saying that I'd ask the front office, saying I want out.I don't know when that happened. Maybe I was asleep. Obviously, it didn't happen."

Gonzalez, 30, has spent eight of his nine MLB seasons with the Rockies and owns a .318/.367/.552 slash line through 82 games this season entering Friday with 18 homers and 51 RBIs. Through his eight years with the Rockies, Gonzalez has hit .297/.355/.541 with 190 long balls and 579 RBIs.

A report by Jon Heyman, who writes for "Today's Knuckleball," surfaced this week claiming Gonzalez, who is under contract through 2017 and will make $20 million next season, wanted out. The 2010 batting champion has denied reports of being frustrated in Colorado.

"Nothing is true because, obviously, I haven't talked to anybody and haven't said that to anybody," he said. "Not my wife or my kids or my mom. Whenever I get home, I'm frustrated because maybe I didn't do well, or we didn't win the game, but I never complain about it ... or say I want to go somewhere else."

Gonzalez is a three-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove Award winner and two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and he'll appear in his third All-Star Game this Tuesday at Petco Park in San Diego.

The Rockies made it to the World Series in 2007 and were swept away by the Red Sox. They have just one postseason appearance since then and have played through five straight sub-.500 seasons, but Gonzalez isn't interested in going elsewhere to chase a ring.

Despite Colorado entering Friday at 39-46, placing them third in the NL Central and 7.5 games back in the Wild Card, Gonzalez says he's content to remain with the Rockies.

"Who says it's not possible to win?" Gonzalez said. "We have some great players around me. We have All-Stars, we have Gold Glovers. Guys that are young and will continue to make strides. Guys like (rookie shortstop) Trevor Story, (right-handed rookie starter) Jon Gray. Young guys, who will hopefully can take that next step. So hopefully we turn it around. I have been here for a lot of bad moments and tough situations, so I want to see the bright (side). I want to be here when that happens."
