LeBron James took to social media to spread his message about stopping the violence.
The reigning NBA Finals MVP wrote a post on Twitter in the wake of the Dallas shootings on Thursday night, which saw a sniper take the lives of five police officers and wound seven others.
The incident occurred during a protest against police violence in downtown Dallas which was created in the wake of the killings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, who were both shot and killed by police earlier this week.
Castile, 32, was shot by officers in Minnesota on Wednesday after reaching for his wallet during a traffic stop, while Sterling, 37, was killed by cops in Louisiana on Tuesday when police believed he was going for his gun after being called to the scene to investigate claims he was threatening someone outside of a convenience store.
The slayings have led to country-wide outrage, but James, fresh off of winning the NBA title, tweeted a message in response to the Dallas shootings, pleading for everyone to stop the violence.
We are all hurting tonight. More violence is not the answer. #StoptheViolence

Earlier in the night Thursday, the Cavaliers star was on Twitter displaying his anger over the murders of Castile and Sterling:

The Dallas shootings were the second deadliest single incident involving U.S. law enforcement since Sept. 11, 2001, and two civilians were also injured in the attacks, according to CNN.com. The gunman, Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, was shot and killed in a police standoff in a parking garage.
James, 31, is fresh off of carrying the Cavaliers to their first NBA championship in franchise history. Cleveland became the first NBA team to ever rally from a 3-1 series deficit to win the title, knocking off defending champion Golden State, which won an NBA-record 73 games, in a winner-take-all Game 7 on June 19.
