It's officially Independence Day, which means the summer is in full swing.

We never want to see the summer go by too quickly, but looking ahead, one of the biggest events of the year for the WWE is looming. The company will preset SummerSlam live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Aug. 21.

Annually, the "Biggest Event of the Summer" is jampacked with action and an amazing lineup as the WWE rings in its second biggest event of the year.

Here are three things we'd like to see at SummerSlam.

1) Lesnar vs. Goldberg II

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar had one of the most infamous matches in WWE history at WrestleMania XX in 2004. The fans knew both men were leaving and mercilessly turned on the match. "The Beast" is set to gain some mainstream exposure when he returns to UFC for its 200th event on July 9, but the WWE has huge plans for him come Aug. 21. While his opponent is yet to be determined, one opponent that makes sense would be Goldberg as it would give the two stars a chance to redeem themselves. Now that Goldberg is working with the WWE again for its upcoming "WWE 2K17" video game, it could open the door for a potential return. He said recently he thinks about a rematch with Lesnar every day, and SummerSlam could be the perfect forum.

2) The Boss' Division

It's about time the WWE crowns Sasha Banks as the Women's Champion. "The Boss" is one of the best in-ring performers and greatest personalities, but the WWE hasn't made her the face of the franchise yet. It seemed like Banks was due for her moment at WrestleMania 32, but the WWE opted to have Charlotte retain the title and then had Banks disappear from television altogether. Now that she's back in the fold, it's logical that the WWE would reward the former NXT standout at SummerSlam and finally give her the push she deserves.

3) Shield Triple Threat

The WWE is wasting the match between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on Battleground, but this match is more fitting of a grand stage like SummerSlam. With Reigns recently getting suspended 30 days for violating the company's wellness policy, it gives the WWE an opportunity to change things up. While it's likely the company won't deviate from its original plans, a Triple Threat Match between the former Shield members belongs at SummerSlam and hopefully things will change.
