Forget the gridiron, Paul Manziel wants to see his son, ex-quarterback Johnny Manziel, behind bars.

While it certainly sounds mean for a father to wish that upon his son, Paul Manziel believes he's tried everything to get his "druggie" son help, but nothing has worked. He believes a stint in jail could help save his son.

Johnny Manziel was cut by the Browns back in March and he has been partying ever since. Amid rumors of rampant drug use, the elder Manziel has seen enough.

"I hate to say it, but I hope he goes to jail," Paul Manziel told ESPN. "I mean, that would be the best place for him."

The saga surrounding the former Heisman Trophy winner took a crazy turn over the weekend when the lawyer representing him, Bob Hinton, accidentally texted an Associated Press reporter confidential information regarding his client. -

The text, which was meant for another lawyer, included information regarding Johnny Manziel's drug problems, his hit and run incident and his domestic violence case in which he was accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley. The attorney has since resigned, according to TMZ Sports.

Paul Manziel made it clear how he labels his son.

"He's a druggie," he said. "It's not a secret that he's a druggie."

Though his words are harsh, the ex-quarterback's father is at his wits end after constantly trying to get his son help only for most of it to fall on deaf ears. Now, he fears for the worst.

"There are two things that are going to happen: He's either going to die, or he's going to figure out that he needs help," Paul Manziel said. "But we've done everything that we can do."

Manziel, 23, has had rampant issues staying away from the party scene and was also recently indicted by a Dallas jury for an alleged physical altercation with Crowley.

He was also recently sued for allegedly causing $32,000 worth of damage to a home he and his party pals rented for a two-day alcohol and drug-fueled binge in Los Angeles.

Instead of reviving his football career, Paul Manziel just wants to see his son get help.
