"The Boss" is back and the Summer of Sasha is about to commence.

The WWE questionably has kept Sasha Banks on the backburner despite the fact that she was on fire in NXT and helped steal the show at WrestleMania 32 with Becky Lynch and Women's Champion Charlotte back in April.

Then she missed Payback. Then she missed Extreme Rules. Then she missed Money in the Bank.

It's pretty inexcusable on the part of the WWE to ignore the "We Want Sasha" chants. Sure a concussion sidelined her briefly, which is a legitimate excuse, but it doesn't explain why she was out of storylines rather than being built up to become the next top contender when she was healthy.

Luckily, "Monday Night RAW" this week showed a glimmer of hope as Banks returned and took out Charlotte and Dana Brooke, while siding with Paige.

Banks recently addressed her future, while talking about how far she has come on the main roster.

"It's insane to think about where I've come from in just a little over three years," Banks told the Orlando Sentinel. "Imagine what the next three years could bring! It gets me really emotional to feel like I'm a part of history."

Most pundits and fans believed Banks would make history at WrestleMania by winning the title and ushering the women's division, but it was not to be. Her momentum was then lost due to a disappearing act, but now she's back in the fold.

It seems like Banks may team with Paige to take on Charlotte and Brooke at Battleground in July, which will then hopefully lead to her Women's Championship shot at SummerSlam in August -- where she can get crowned for real.

It'll only be fitting for Banks to reach the apex of the WWE Women's division at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the same place she put on one of the Matches of the Year for 2015 last summer with Bayley at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.

The Summer of Sasha is about to commence, and Banks could be set to become the biggest draw in the women's division since Trish Stratus ... if the WWE gives her a chance to shine at SummerSlam.

"Before I came to WWE, I was watching guys like John Cena and The Rock and said, 'I want to be able to bring people to their feet cheering like that,'" Banks said. "The women's match has been the bathroom break on shows for too long. Since the match I had with Bayley, people have been buying tickets to see us. That's amazing."
