After a memorable 2015-16 season came to an end with a Stanley Cup for the Pittsburgh Penguins, it's time for the NHL to hand out some more awards.

The league will present the annual NHL Awards live Wednesday night from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The main award will be the Hart Trophy, given out to the league MVP. Patrick Kane, Sidney Crosby and Jamie Benn are all up for the award.

Crosby is a two-time Hart Trophy winner and finished the regular season with 85 points in 80 games after a slow start. He had a league-best 58 points in 44 games after Jan. 1, eventually winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as Stanley Cup playoff MVP.

Kane is the favorite to win the award after overcoming obstacles in his personal life to have an amazing season for the Blackhawks. Kane finished with a league-best 106 points and placed second with 46 goals in the regular season.

Benn scored a career-high 41 goals this season for the Stars and finished second in the NHL with 89 points. He also proved durable, playing in all 82 games for Dallas.
