Derek Jeter will soon have at least one thing in common with President Barack Obama: retirement.

The Yankees captain and former shortstop hung up his cleats following the 2014 season, while the current president's second term in office is set to come to an end after the election in November.

Jeter, 41, recently sat down with Obama, 54, and the two began discussing retirement. The president said he isn't as young as Jeter, but is still "relatively young."

"Thank you, can you repeat that?" Jeter said to Obama in a preview released of their interview on the Players' Tribune. "Because when you're in sports, they say you're old at 30. So thank you, I appreciate that."

And that's when Obama roasted the five-time World Series champion.

"Well, I mean, for a baseball player, you were old, man," Obama said. "Let's face it -- I mean come on, man -- we saw you trying to run around those bases."

Ouch.

Jeter and Obama have some history and it seems the president was getting some vengeance on the Yankee legend for hustling him on the golf course.

"[Las Vegas Sun owner Brian Greenspun] and Derek Jeter stole money from me at Shadow Creek," Obama told Politico Magazine last August. "It was clearly a setup, because when we got to the practice range, he was shanking balls everywhere. I said, 'You play golf Derek?' And he said, 'I just started two weeks ago.'"

Jeter will soon have another thing in common with Obama as he is set to get married to Hannah Davis on July 2 in Napa Valley. The president married his wife, Michelle, in 1992.

The former MLB star and the swimsuit model will tie the knot in a small ceremony in an act that continues the trend of both high-profile stars keeping things low-key.

"I feel like I have to share every other part of my life," Davis said in the March issue of Maxim Magazine. "It's that one part that's a little bit of a mystery to people, but that's the way we want it. The only way to protect it is not to talk about it."

Jeter was similarly roasted by Bette Midler, who took a shot at his past dating life on Twitter during Memorial Day weekend.

"Derek Jeter is finally settling down & getting married," the actress and singer tweeted. "That's probably gonna cut back on his dating, though."
