For the first time in franchise history, the Cavaliers are NBA champions.

Cleveland became the first team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 series deficit and go on to win the NBA Finals. The Cavaliers took Game 7 from the defending champion and record-setting Warriors, 93-89.

LeBron James took home the Finals MVP Award and put up 27 points in the victory. The three-time NBA champion had 41 points in each of Cleveland's victories in Games 5 and 6 with his team on the brink of elimination and was very emotional following the game.

"I'm coming home with what I said I was going to do," James said after Game 7 via NBA.com. "I can't wait to get off that plane, hold that trophy up and see all our fans at the terminal."
