This Sunday, one of the most exciting bouts of the year will go down as the Ladder Match at Money in the Bank will set forth a lengthy storyline.

Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn or Alberto Del Rio will grab the briefcase that will be suspended high above the ring and with it earn a guaranteed contract for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot anytime within the next year.

This is a deep field, but one of these men is more deserving of the reward than his peers.

It's high-time the "Lunatic Fringe" was rewarded for his tenure in the WWE and here are three reasons why Ambrose should leave the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

1) Believe in the Shield

Ambrose winning the briefcase provides the possibility for a Triple Threat Match between the former Hounds of Justice members in Ambrose, Seth Rollins and reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, which is way overdue.

Rollins and Reigns are set to clash in the main event at Money in the Bank, but the WWE could do some sort of false finish, eventually setting up a three-way clash between the former Shield members at SummerSlam by having Ambrose announce he's cashing in to get involved in the rivalry between his former brethren. The WWE already teased this development this past Monday on "RAW" during the Ambrose Asylum segment.

2) Main Eventer

It's undeniable that Ambrose has been booked the weakest out of the three Shield members since their split two years ago, as evidenced by the fact he's the only one to never capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The unstable babyface has lost most of his feuds, but the WWE recently started booking him more seriously -- entering him in programs with Brock Lesnar and Triple H (both of which he, of course, lost).

Ambrose finally gained some momentum by decisively winning his rivalry with Chris Jericho, and now it's time the WWE gave him some direction by giving him the Money in the Bank contract to add an extra dynamic and sense of urgency to his character.

3) A Lunatic Heel

Winning the briefcase also opens up an interesting possible character change for Ambrose. His promos as a babyface have started to get watered down, which may be because the WWE is scripting them -- though that can't be known for sure. Given his crazy personality, if the WWE turned Ambrose into an unhinged heel who is obsessed with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, it could make him one of the most compelling characters in the company. Ambrose could win the contract and show some hints of turning heel before fully committing to the part.

If Dean Ambrose won the Money in the Bank briefcase, which scenario would you rather see?
