The FBI posted its full file on the late legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno after numerous media outlets made Freedom of Information Act requests.
The file contains over 800 pages, including numerous letters and past threats to the coach, but no information about Jerry Sandusky or the related child sex scandal. The letters are from the 1970's and 80's and blame the coach for some family problems the anonymous sender was going through.
"I feel you are responsible for me loosing (sic) my son," A Bitter Father writes, according to the documents and the Associated Press. "He went to Penn State because of you in the first place. He feels he got a bum deal and I agree. He lost interest in everything and went from bad to worse."
Over 40 pages of the file were withheld due to privacy issues. Other pages allude to a tragic accident that claims Paterno was involved in.
Paterno lost his job after the details of the Jerry Sandusky abuse scandal came to light. He passed away soon after he lost his job from issues related to lung cancer.
At his trial, Sandusky was found guilty on 45 counts of molestation and sexual abuse.
Recently a Catholic priest has come out to defend Sandusky, claiming some of the young children may have been the seducers. According to a quote from Andrew Sullivan at The Daily Beast, Father Benedict Groeschel, the director of the Office for Spiritual Development for the Catholic Archdiocese of New York said: "Here's this poor guy - [Penn State football coach Jerry] Sandusky - it went on for years. Interesting: Why didn't anyone say anything? Apparently, a number of kids knew about it and didn't break the ice. Well, you know, until recent years, people did not register in their minds that it was a crime. It was a moral failure, scandalous; but they didn't think of it in terms of legal things."
The Penn State football team plays its first game without Paterno as head coach since 1965 on Saturday against Ohio.
