AJ Styles and The Club turned full-fledged heel this week on "Monday Night RAW."

The trio spoiled John Cena's return on the Memorial Day edition of the flagship show and laid him out. It now seems the "Cenation" leader and the "Pheonomenal One" will go head-to-head in a feud.

There were rumors that the WWE still had major plans for Styles and it appears a program with Cena is on the horizon. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion was on a rough losing streak, having lost his last two pay-per-view matches to Roman Reigns.

Styles also fell to Kevin Owens last week on "RAW," missing out on a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on June 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After Styles and The Club put a beat down on Cena on Monday night, Styles took to Twitter to continue the momentum of the character change:

Though he lost many high-profile matches, which includes a defeat at the hands of Chris Jericho in his WrestleMania debut in April, Styles is happy about his transition and optimistic about his standing in the WWE.

"I think it's a surprise to everyone, to be honest with you," Styles told Rolling Stone. "I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't surprised. I was hopeful - I thought eventually I'd be in the main event because I have that kind of drive, but to be here so quickly, you don't expect that. But at the end of the day you have to give the people what they want, and they seem to like what I'm doing out here in WWE. You can't write a better way to put yourself over, and it makes me want to work hard and maintain where I'm at."

Now that Styles is entering a program with Cena, he really has a chance t put himself on the map in the WWE.
