Could there soon finally be an answer for who's next for Bill Goldberg in WWE?

The company revealed the former WWE and WCW World Heavyweight Champion will be on the roster for the WWE 2K17 video game. The announcement came this week on "Monday Night RAW."

Goldberg will be a playable character in the game, which is set for release on Oct. 25. The former WWE Superstar's appearance was teased by promos involving a hatch.

Goldberg and other Superstars commented on his inclusion in the game:

Now that Goldberg is somewhat back in the WWE fold, perhaps it's time for a full-fledged return to the WWE. The former WWE and WCW star has come close to re-signing with Vince McMahon's company in the past, but it was said his negotiations with Triple H didn't go well.

With Goldberg agreeing to appear in the video game, he could be one step closer to an in-ring return. With it being over a decade since he last appeared in the WWE, he has a roster full of fresh faces to potentially feud with.

Goldberg hasn't appeared since WrestleMania XX in Madison Square Garden in 2004. That night is infamous for his match with Brock Lesnar, which ended up being a dud.

The WWE Universe realized both Superstars were leaving the company and opted to turn on the match, only cheering special guest referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. To this day, it's Goldberg's only taste of WrestleMania.

If Goldberg were to return, he and Lesnar could potentially have a re-do of their horrid match from 2004.

Goldberg once went 173-0 in WCW and though his WWE run wasn't quite as noteworthy, a potential return could be huge.
