Seth Rollins returned to the WWE on Sunday at Extreme Rules and just 24 hours later he was named the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The move makes sense from a creative standpoint since "The Architect' never lost the belt. Rollins had to forfeit it after suffering a serious knee injury in November during a match with Kane on the WWE's European tour.

Rollins will face reigning champion and his former stablemate Roman Reigns for the richest prize in the game at Money in the Bank on June 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Here are three reasons why Rollins should go over his former Hounds of Justice brethren next month.

1) Reign(s) of Terror

The leader of the Roman Empire hasn't exactly been universally loved as "the guy." To his credit, Reigns has shown some improvement in the ring as his last two main event matches with AJ Styles were both great. Still, Reigns has never displayed anything to make fans believe he should be the top dog in the company and his mic skills could still use some work.

With Rollins back, it could be time to abandon the Reigns experiment and slowly build him up going forward rather than the impatient approach the WWE has taken with him where they shove him down everyone's throats.

2) Leading The Way

Rollins has the experience needed to carry the company. When Brock Lesnar was a part-time champion, "The Architect" was the de facto top heel in his absence. It was during this time period that he showed enough skill for the WWE to pull the trigger on a title reign for him in one of the best endings in WrestleMania history.

As champion, Rollins truly came into his own, putting on classic match after classic match even with the WWE trying to cut his legs by questionably having him feud with Kane. Since Rollins has chemistry with just about everyone on the roster and has proven how good he can be, it's a no-brainer to give him back the title he never lost.

3) Fresh Faces

In Rollins' seven-month absence, some new potential opponents have come into the fold. As noted above, Rollins matches up well with just about anyone on the roster, giving the WWE some flexibility in utilizing him in feuds.

With guys like AJ Styles and Sami Zayn now on the main roster, seeing them feud with Rollins on top of the card could be epic. It sure beats the hell out of a rivalry with Kane if Rollins were to once again capture the richest prize in the game.
