Nyquist looks to secure the second jewel of the Triple Crown when the 141st annual Preakness Stakes go live Saturday from Pimlico Race Course Baltimore, Md.

Paul Reddam, a life-long Detroit Red Wings fan, named Nyquist after forward Gustav Nyquist and has a habit of naming his horses after players from the Original Six hockey club.

Nyquist enters undefeated through eight races in its career and will look to keep that streak alive as he posts third out of the starting gate.

There will be some stiff competition, the most formidable of which comes from Exaggerator, who will come from the five post. Exaggerator has come up short in trying to beat out Nyquist on two separate occasions, most recently being the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs back on May 7.

If Nyquist can pull off this race, the horse will head to the Belmont Stakes on June 11 looking to become the second consecutive horse to take the Triple Crown after American Pharoah did so last year.

The preliminary races will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET, while the Belmont Stakes main race is slated to go off at 6:45 p.m. ET.

Here is the complete 11-horse field for the Preakness Stakes along with weight, jockey and odds via the Courier-Journal:
