The Sharks look to force their way into this series, while the Blues try and take a commanding 2-0 lead when the puck drops on Game 2 of the Western Conference Final live from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on Tuesday night.

San Jose is looking to do its job by seeking a split in the series on the road as St. Louis hopes to shore up home-ice before the scene shifts to California.

The Blues toppled the Sharks, 2-1, in Game 1 on Sunday.

David Backes' scored his seventh goal of the postseason to tie Vladimir Tarasenko for the St. Louis team lead, while Jori Lehtera found the twine for the game-winning goal, his second of the playoffs. Tomas Hertl lit the lamp for the third time this postseason in the lone goal for San Jose.

Tarasenko has paced the Blues with 13 points this postseason, while rookie Robby Fabbri has a club-best 10 assists. Tarasenko missed the morning skate for the birth of his son, Aleksandr, but is likely to suit up for Game 2.

"If something happened, he wasn't able to come here, the priority is to be with his family," Blues coach Ken Hitchcock told NHL.com. "We all understand that. We'll support him 100 percent on it. But our assumption is that he'll be here ready for game."

As for the Sharks, Logan Couture has paced the club with a playoff-leading 17 points, while Joe Pavelski leads the team in tallies (9) and Brent Burns is first in helpers (12). San Jose may have some changes in its lineup as it seeks a better effort than Game 1.

"It's another chance to redeem ourselves," Logan Couture said via NHL.com. "We didn't play our best game in Game 1. The chances that we've had to play a better game in these playoffs, we've done that. So another opportunity for us."

The battle in the blue paint will see Martin Jones suit up for San Jose and Brian Elliott take his place between the pipes for St. Louis.

Jones yielded two goals on 23 shots in Game 1 and is 8-5 with a 2.16 goals-against average and .918 save percentage in the playoffs. Elliott stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced on Sunday and is 9-6 with a 2.20 GAA and a .932 save percentage this postseason.
