Rory McIlroy may be in the public eye as one of the most popular golfers, but he's keeping his wedding plans with fiancée Erica Stoll under wraps.

The golfer proposed to Stoll, who worked for the PGA, back in December during a trip to Paris.

McIlroy, 26, was recently very publicly engaged to tennis sensation Caroline Wozniacki, but he broke off the engagement in an issue that played out in the public eye. With Stoll, 28, McIlroy is looking to keep things simpler.

The happy couple hasn't publicly announced a date for their wedding yet. A shirtless McIlroy was seen strolling on the beach in Barbados with a bikini-clad Stoll this week, according to TMZ Sports, but the plans behind their nuptials remain a mystery.

After popping the question to Stoll, whom he met at the 2012 Ryder Cup, McIlroy appeared relieved that she wasn't someone craving the spotlight.

"Erica has obviously been around quite a lot, at tournaments this year, but we have really just tried to keep it low-key," McIlroy said back in December, according to The Telegraph. "She is a very low-key person, not the kind to broadcast stuff, but that side of my life is obviously really, really good just now. We are excited, our parents are excited, so it is a really happy time."

McIlroy proposed to Stoll over dinner and after spending three years in a high-profile relationship with Wozniacki, it's certainly a different type of relationship.

After his previous engagement came to an unceremonious end in May 2014 after the wedding invitations were already sent out, McIlroy is enjoying the secretive nature of his relationship with Stoll.

"For me, Erica brings such a level of normality to everything," he said. "She has a calming presence, a sereneness and that's not just on me; it is noticeable in any company. She has been a great influence on me and has given such a great balance to my life; between who I am when people see me out here and who I am at home."
