The Golden State Warriors have tied the best regular-season record in NBA history on Sunday and are now a win away from breaking the 72-10 card of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

While most fans and analysts are still debating on who the better team is, Warriors forward Draymond Green revealed that Michael Jordan, who led the Bulls during their historic run, actually urged him to break the record.

Green said that he respects Jordan and his teammates during the 1995-96 season, then revealed that Jordan gave him the blessing to break the record during a conversation in the 2016 NBA All-Star weekend.

"At the end of the day, we respect those guys," Green said of the 1995-96 Bulls via ESPN. "Mike told me, at All-Star, Go win the record. Go get the record. If y'all don't win this record, I'm 'a be hot and I'm blaming you.' We're almost there. We got one more game or he gonna' blame me."

The Warriors moved one win away from having the best record in league history after scoring an impressive 92-86 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night. Aside from tying the most number of regular-season wins in league history, the Warriors also handed San Antonio their first loss at home this season.

Golden State will go for the record on Wednesday when they host the Memphis Grizzlies, who almost defeated the Warriors before falling, 100-99, on Saturday.

Reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry said that the goal is to win their second consecutive title, but they will go all out on Wednesday to set a new record.

"The goal is to win a championship. That's the goal," Curry told reporters. "But we put ourselves in a great position to end the season with a win and do something no team has done in history. That's an amazing accomplishment."
