As the push to the Stanley Cup playoffs continues, the Flyers host the rival Penguins in a pitvotal game Saturday afternoon.

Pittsburgh enters red-hot, having won eight straight games entering its final contest of the regular-season. Philadelphia, meanwhile, has lost three straight tilts with two remaining in the season.

The Penguins have 104 points and currently hold second place in the Metropolitan division, with the Islanders right behind them with 99. The Flyers (92) enter play one point behind the Bruins (93) for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Boston hosted Ottawa on Saturday.

The Flyers have lost all three previous meeting to the Penguins and will look to avoid a sweep. It wasn't expected that the Flyers would be fighting for a playoff spot after their rough start, but the club is happy to have a shot.

"If you told us two months ago we'd be in this position, we'd take it," captain Claude Giroux told NHL.com.

Giroux paces Philadelphia with 44 assists and 66 points, while Wayne Simmonds had 30 goals.

Sidney Crosby leads Pittsburgh with 36 goals and 85 points, while Kris Letang has a team-best 51 helpers.

The Flyers have to win Saturday and then defeat the Islanders on Sunday to get into the playoffs.
