It hasn't been confirmed when the upcoming Roman Reigns and AJ Styles battle will take place, but it's likely to occur at Payback.

The WWE presents its first major event since WrestleMania 32 on May 1 live from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. While the WWE could have Reigns face Styles beforehand, such a big match is suitable for a pay-per-view and WWE Network special.

Styles overcame Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and the returning Cesaro in a Fatal 4 Way Match on "RAW" to become No. 1 contender. With the "Phenomenal One" serving as No. 1 contender, it'll likely once again pit the WWE Universe firmly against Reigns.

Though the match could end up being a standard singles bout, it might serve the combatants better for their to be a stipulation. Here are potential special rules for the bout between Reigns and Styles.

1) No Holds Barred

Though Reigns has many detractors, he's admittedly at his best when he's booked to wrestle in a full-scale brawl. His main event match with Brock Lesanr at WrestleMania 31 last year was one of his best.

Putting Reigns in a brawl with a traditional athlete in Styles could help mask the WWE World Heavyweight Champion's in-ring deficiencies.

2) Steel Cage Match

Surrounding these two combatants by unforgiving steel could also help Reigns improve, while giving Styles some big-match exposure in the WWE. Steel Cage bouts are always very entertaining, so a battle between one of the very best in Styles and a good brawler in Reigns would be a tremendous sight.

3) Three Stages of Hell

It's been a long time since the WWE dusted off its Three Stages of Hell stipulation, and this could be a great time. Having Reigns and Styles clash in a 2-out-of-3 falls match with varying stipulations would be a great way to make the match feel even more important.

Reigns and Styles could battle in a singles match and then follow through with the other two stipulations by wrestilng in a No Holds Barred showdown and then a Steel Cage Match to decide the new champion.
