The Giants open up their home schedule at AT&T Park with some matinee action against the NL West rival Dodgers Thursday afternoon.

Los Angeles has won three straight games after dominating San Diego to open up the season, while San Francisco took two out of three from Milwaukee.

The Dodgers outscored the Padres 25-0 in a three-game series, including a 7-0 drubbing of them on Wednesday. Yasiel Puig hit his first homer of the season in that game, while pitcher Kenta Maeda also surprisingly went yard.

Puig is hitting .600 to start the season and has four RBIs already.

The Giants went 2-0 to start the season, but fell to the Brewers, 4-3, at Miller Park on Wednesday. Matt Duffy hit his second long ball of the season in Wednesday's win.

Duffy has 6 RBIs on the season, while newcomer Denard Span has driven in five runs through three games.

Alex Wood (12-12, 3.84 ERA in 2015) takes the ball for the Dodgers, while the Giants counter with Jake Peavy (8-6, 3.58).

"It's just like a playoff-game atmosphere, really, is the best way to describe it," Peavy told MLB.com about playing the Dodgers. "There's a lot of energy and excitement around the game."

The Dodgers won the NL West last season, but the Giants beat them in the season series 11-8, going 8-2 at home.
