Aaron Rodgers gets our vote for best revenge on social media.

The Packers quarterback lashed back at Republican presidential candidate John Kasich during the Wisconsin primaries on Tuesday. The politician fired the first salvo in the war of words when he took aim at Rodgers when trying to make a joke during a GOP town hall last week that aired on CNN.

When an audience member asked Kasich what he looks for when scouting a vice president should he advance far enough to run for president, he gave a long-winded response before ripping on Rodgers in an answer that would surely upset his girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn.

"Aaron Rodgers, maybe," Kasich said. "If he had a better year next year. We'll see."

Rodgers had what for him was a down year in Green Bay last season, partially because his top receiver, Jordy Nelson, missed the entire campaign with an injury. The quarterback still led the Packers to the playoffs, where they ultimately lost to the Cardinals, while throwing two impressive Hail Marys during the season.

With the Wisconsin natives set to go to the polls to vote on their primary on Tuesday, many of the two-time NFL MVP's Twitter followers informed him on social media that they planned to write-in his name. When one user asked him who is running mate would be, Rodgers found it an opportune time to dig back at Kasich:

Rodgers, who has remained tight-lipped about his political orientation, then bristled at another Twitter user for claiming he was throwing his support behind Kasich:

While this was light-hearted, Rodgers and Munn know far too well how critical people can be. The "X-Men: Apocalypse" actress has been battling off critics who claim she uses plastic surgery to stay beautiful, and she also had to thwart off detractors who blamed her for Rodgers struggles in 2015 (career-low 92.7 rating).

Munn and Rodgers have been dating since 2014, but another source of annoyance for the couple is the constant engagement rumors that creep up.

The quarterback has kept his future plans with Munn, much like his political support, a secret. Though he doesn't publicly discuss politics, Rodgers had some fun on the golf course with President Barack Obama last Saturday.
