The Boston Celtics will likely be one of the possible landing spots for D'Angelo Russell if the Los Angeles Lakers eventually decide to part ways with the controversial guard.

Russell made headlines after a video he took went viral online, revealing that Lakers teammate Nick Young cheated on his fiancée Iggy Azalea. The controversy reportedly affected teammates' trust on Russell, fueling speculation that the Lakers will eventually move the rookie guard.

According to CNNE, several teams are expected to take advantage of the current turmoil and will try to convince the Lakers to move Russell. And in the event the Lakers decide to shop the former Ohio State standout, one league executive believes the Celtics will have a good chance to acquire Russell.

"All those picks and young players Boston has, they could probably put a package together that would at least pique the Lakers' interest," the league executive said. "But do the Lakers want to move him over something like this? I don't think so. But hey, stranger things have happened."

Aside from their picks in the coming years, Marcus Smart could also be involved in the deal. The report also pointed out that Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is known for "taking advantage of another team's problem" in the past.

However, it appears the Lakers are ready to move on from the controversy. Russell has publicly apologized for his mistakes and admitted that he placed Young's personal life in jeopardy, ESPN reported. Young also confirmed that he already sat down with Russell to discuss the incident.

Lakers coach Byron Scott, who had many run-ins with Russell this season, also downplayed the incident, saying that he is not planning to talk to the 20-year-old because it is an internal matter between teammates.

"Won't talk to him. That's an internal matter that our guys will deal with, and we're just going to leave it at that," Scott said via Fox Sports. "The only thing I'm disappointed about is that it got out," Scott said. "We're a family and we try to keep everything in-house. That's the only thing I'm disappointed about."
