Evander Kane won't play on the ice again this season, but now he has time to fine-tune his game off of it.

The Sabres forward has been dealing with an upper-body injury and will miss the rest of the season for the Sabres, who play the Maple Leafs in Buffalo on Thursday.

Kane sustained the injury in a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings on Monday and it will sideline him for 3-4 weeks, according to NHL.com. Kane, who finishes his season fifth on the Sabres with 35 points off of 20 goals and 15 assists, left that game in the second period and didn't return.

With his offseason coming earlier than expected with Buffalo due to play five more games in their slate, perhaps Kane can turn his attention back to trying to court beautiful fitness guru Jen Selter.

When a fan tweeted last week that they wished to have a boyfriend like Kane and a body like Selter, mentioning them both in the tweet, the Sabres star responded:

Kane then posted a since-deleted tweet at Selter imploring her to hit him up in his DMs. While the tweet is now gone, it was screen-grabbed over at BSO.

Thus far, there's no word on whether or not Selter took him up on the offer. She has however, kept up her fitness game, judging by her latest Instagram shots:

Despite being on the verge of a bright future with such rookies as Jack Eichel, it's been a mostly forgettable season for the Sabres, a club that will miss the playoffs for the fifth straight season. Buffalo enters Thursday with a 31-35-11 record (73 points), placing them 14th in the 16-team Eastern Conference.

The Sabres also have a minus-25 goal-differential with five games left in the season.

It may not have been a notable season for Kane and the Sabres, but he can have a tremendous offseason if he ends up landing Selter.
