CM Punk may never return to the WWE, but the fact that he was ever there is enough ammunition for Mickey Gall.

The "Best in the World" was slated to make his UFC debut against Gall, who won his first fight, this summer, but it was pushed back after Punk needed back surgery.

The former wrestler has had many setbacks since signing with the UFC in December of 2014, but he still intends to have his first fight even at age 37. Though a date hasn't been determined, Gall is keeping the rivalry fresh.

The New Jersey native talked about Punk's past, commenting on how different wrestling is from being in the Octagon.

"I think wrestling is entertaining," Gall told The Fan Garage. "I used to be a big fan of it when I was a kid. They do some cool stuff but I think it does not even compare to MMA. MMA is real, that stuff [wrestling], the falls and slams are real but it's all fake, it's all pretended, it's like athletic acting."

Though Gall is right about the outcomes being fake, wrestling obviously still takes its toll. Punk's back injury is largely the cause of wear and tear he suffered through the years in the squared circle.

After being a wrestler for most of his adult life, Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 due to his frustration with his place in the company. He signed with the UFC 11 months later, but the world still awaits his debut.

Though there's no confirmation as to when he'll go toe-to-toe with Gall, the rivalry is obviously continuing.

"I haven't seen much of CM Punk but I'm very confident that he is not as good as me any area," Gall said. "I don't think he is a legit UFC talent. He could be a tough guy and I'm sure he is a talented guy but I don't think he could acquire the skills that I have in such a limited time that he had put into it."
