Renee Young could follow her boyfriend Dean Ambrose's footsteps by climbing into the WWE ring.
The backstage WWE personality and pre-show host revealed she's dating the "Lunatic Fringe" back in March of 2015, and now she may have designs to be an active competitor. While Young isn't necessarily looking for a full-time role, she did admit she would be open to stepping into the ring.
"I'd definitely be open to the idea of doing a storyline in some capacity," Young told the Miami Herald while hyping WrestleMania 32."I think it would be so fun to jump in there and do something like that. If that opportunity came along, I would go with it, but I think WWE has other things in mind for me."
Those "other thingss" will be on full display this Sunday.
Young will serve as the pre-show host and on the analysis panel for WrestleMania 32, which emanates live from AT&T Stadium in Texas. Her boyfriend Ambrose, meanwhile, will be an integral part of the card as he takes on Brock Lesnar in a Street Fight.
The WWE has transferred its Divas from inactive roles to active duty in the past, so it wouldn't be surprising for Young to eventually make the transition.
Lana served as Rusev's manager for much of her run in the company, but she'll make her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 32 when she teams with Summer Rae, Emma, Naomi and Tamina to battle Brie Bella, Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox and Eva Marie.
Young opened up about her relationship with Ambrose, who is a very private person, last year around WrestleMania time.
"People will throw trash at me in the streets for answering this, but yeah. Yes we are," Young told The Sun. "We are dating, we're in love, we don't care who knows it! It's true, yes. He's a lovely man - but don't ever tell anyone I said that, though. He's very nice and he's adorable. But people wouldn't assume that. He's a lot different to what people would know."
Though Ambrose is very private, he gushed about his romance with Young on an appearance on "The Gorilla Position" podcast in September.
"I wouldn't be with anything less than the optimal, most beautiful, most tremendous girl in the world," Ambrose told the show, according to What Culture. "But the bottom line is, she's far too good for me. But it's far too late and I've got my claws stuck into her now, she can't go anywhere."
The next place she may be going could be the wrestling ring.
