The Lakers are publicly standing by two of their players in the midst of controversy.

Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson were accused by a woman named Alexis Jones of sexual harassment on Sunday.

Jones, a female activist who is an author and co-founder of the nonprofit I Am That Girl, claimed the two Lakers players and two other men rolled up next to her vehicle in a jeep and made "vulgar, sexual" gestures toward her 68-year-old mother.

"She was super rattled. That's the truth. It scared her," Jones said in an interview with ESPN. "We were in a small car, and they were in a big Jeep, and it was a bunch of big dudes. They're leaning out of the car and making vulgar, sexual gestures. My mom was really shocked. That immediately turned into sobbing."

Jones also shared a picture of the four men in the jeep on Instagram:

The Lakers, however, have looked into it and are supporting their players' claims that it isn't true.

"We support Nick and Jordan and believe what they told us about the incidents and their actions," Lakers spokesperson John Black said via TMZ. "We also are supportive of Alexis and her feelings about what happened, about women's rights, and of the fine work Alexis is doing with her organization."

Black said he tried to arrange a meeting for Jones and her publicist to meet with Young and Clarkson, but Jones' schedule wouldn't allow it. He added that he will keep in touch with her about possibly addressing the entire team about the issues she's involved in.

Young vehemently denied being a part of any vulgar or sexual acts toward the women.

"If you want some attention take a pic of me and say anything next to it and post," said Young, who is engaged to Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. " ... The world we live in."

On the court, things are perhaps even uglier for the Lakers, who sit dead last in the Western Conference with a dreadful 15-55 record.
