If the multibillion dollar NBA can somehow buy a miracle, now's the time to do it.

A day after the NBA on TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager revealed his leukemia no longer is in remission, he also has revealed to HBO's "Real Sports" that doctors have given him six months to live, via a tweet posted by Larry Brown Sports.

Leukemia Illness Reveals Craig Sager As Iconic NBA Figure

The tweet comes from Sports Illustrated NBA reporter Ben Golliver.

Obviously, Sager's refusal to give up is heroic, and his fight with leukemia already has been a roller-coaster of emotions --- which has included his initial diagnosis in 2014, his son stepping in for him for TNT, his first return to work, his discovery of the disease's return and subsequent return.

Craig Sager's Son Reveals His Leukemia Has Returned

The scariest part of the tweet is the unknown associated with the disease. While Sager and all of the NBA is focused on the five-year part of the possibilities, there is also the possibility of as little as a week.

One fact that bears mentioning about Sager is that he was the first member of the media to interview Hank Aaron when he hit his 715th home run in 1974 to surpass Babe Ruth for the all-time home run record.

The 22-year-old Sager wore a white overcoat and was at home plate along with Aaron's teammates to greet the slugger. The famed basketball sideline reporter admitted that being there with Aaron on his historic night was the highlight of his career.

From now on, the only certainty appears to be that the number of You Tube hits with interviews featuring Sager and his unique wardrobe are certain to rise in the coming weeks.
