Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly doesn't expect quarterback Michael Vick to be available for this Sunday's game against Oakland.
Vick, who re-injured his hamstring during the second quarter of the Eagles 15-7 lost to the Giants---the team's tenth straight at home--- told reporters after the game he heard something "pop" in his hamstring.
During his weekly radio show on Monday, Kelly told WIP's Morning Show he would be surprised if Vick were ready to play this week and, depending on Nick Foles' status, the team might be forced to start rookie Matt Barkley.
"Matt is healthy, so that's a positive," Kelly said during the show. "I would think Mike would not be ready to go, and it depends on where Nick is. So we'll know early in the week which two guys we got to prepare for, one and two. Our first day of practice is [Tuesday]. We'll have a good understanding today. I know Nick will come in today and meet with [trainer] Chris Peduzzi and our doctors, and we'll have a good understanding of where Nick is this week and what's his availability."
Monday is the Eagles' off day. It's a treatment day for injured players. The player to watch this week is Foles.
After the Giants game, Kelly told reporters Foles still had not been cleared to return to practice stemming from the concussion he suffered two weeks ago.
