CM Punk is still preparing for his UFC debut and while it remains a mystery when that will occur, there are still a large number of fans who would love to see him return to the WWE.

The "Best in the World" quit the WWE in January 2014 and signed with the UFC that December, publicly stating he'd "never, ever" return to Vince McMahon's company. Still, if the WWE mended fences with The Ultimate Warrior and was able to convince Bruno Sammartino to enter its Hall of Fame, any bad blood can be overcome.

There are many reasons why it would make sense for Punk to return to the fold. If he ever does decide to come back, here are possible fantasy feuds for the former WWE Champion. To view this article in slideshow form, CLICK START on the top right of this page.

1) Seth Rollins

Punk and Rollins crossed paths at the 2013 Survivor Series when "The Architect" made his debut as part of The Shield, helping Punk retain his gold. The Chicago native would eventually face all three members at TLC that year, but he never had a lengthy program with any of them.

After Punk's departure, Rollins catapulted himself into a top heel, capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31, before falling to a knee injury. A feud between these two could yield several Match of the Year contenders.

2) Roman Reigns

People love Punk. People hate Reigns. This feud would be logical if the WWE turned the leader of the Roman Empire heel and had him go after the "Best in the World," who is beloved by the majority of the WWE Universe.

Given Punk's brashness and savvy for pipe bombs, he can attack Reigns for being the WWE's handpicked golden boy and even blur the lines between fantasy and reality by talking about how he was given every opportunity to get over and choked, while the WWE always held Punk down.

3) Dean Ambrose

Sticking with The Shield theme, the "Lunatic Fringe" would make for a great adversary to Punk. Both guys would have a field day ripping each other on the microphone and Ambrose's frantic offense would mesh well with the striking blows Punk is known for.

4) Kevin Owens

Instead of boring the WWE Universe with a 20-minute promo featuring McMahon family drama every week, give these two guys a microphone and let them go off script. That would be pure entertainment.

The reigning Intercontinental Champion had a similar journey to Punk as he scratched and clawed his way to get to the WWE. Owens has never been shy about how passionate he is about wrestling, so he can easily rip on Punk for walking away from a spot so few people are ever able to get, and Punk can use his cocky attitude to roar back at him.

5) Sami Zayn

The former NXT standout just got started on the main roster, but he would make a very interesting adversary for the former WWE Superstar-turned-UFC fighter. Zayn hasn't been given a chance to show what he can really do outside of NXT yet, but hopefully he'll begin to come into his own at WrestleMania 32 so that if Punk ever does return, Zayn will be a logical rival.

Who do you want to see CM Punk have a long-term feud with if he ever returned to WWE?
