It's safe to say Russell Wilson and Ciara won't be getting a wedding present from Ashton Meem when they eventually tie the knot.
The quarterback's ex-wife went to new lengths to mock his R&B star fiancée. Meem changed her profile picture on Twitter to show off the engagement ring that Wilson gave to her when they were getting set for marriage.
Wilson gave Ciara a 5 carat engagement ring, while the one he gave to Meem was 8 carats. The Super Bowl XLVIII champion's ex-wife changed her picture as a way to mock her for having a smaller ring, according to Terez Owens.
It was revealed on Friday that Wilson finally proposed to Ciara when they were vacationing on an island off the coast of Africa. The "Dance Like We're Making Love" singer was blown away by the engagement.
"She was shocked when they landed in Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island," the singer's rep told Us. "The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancée at the romantic, private Honeymoon Beach."
Wilson and Ciara both have complicated romantic pasts, which could be part of the reason they turned to their faith and took a vow of celibacy during their relationship. Though the two haven't had sex yet, now that they're engaged, they're one step closer to getting there.
The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback married Meem in January 2012, but the couple got divorced in April 2014. Wilson began dating Ciara in a highly-publicized relationship in early 2015, inevitably leading to their engagement.
As for the singer, she has had a sordid past with rapper Future. The couple was engaged in October 2015, but the engagement eventually was called off in August 2014. Ciara and Future have a son, Future Jr., who will turn 2 in May.
Though Ciara and Wilson have been happy, her ex-fiancé has not been a big fan of the quarterback hanging out and playing a stepfather role to his son.
Regardless of their past troubles, Ciara and Wilson are headed to the altar and appear to be very happy together.
