AJ Lee has been gone from the WWE for nearly a year, but she's sorely missed.
The three-time WWE Divas Champion left the company shortly after WrestleMania 31 last March, mostly due to her husband CM Punk being engaged in a lawsuit with the company doctor, Chris Amann.
It's understandable why she left the organization, but there's hope that somewhere down the line she'll make a comeback.
Here are three reasons why Lee should return to the fold.
1) Divas Revolution
While the jury is still out on whether or not the WWE has succeeded in its goal for a true Divas Revolution, it has done a nice job adding an influx of talent. Just months after Lee left, the WWE called up several ladies from NXT that have now become major players on the main roster.
Lee vs. Charlotte, Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch would be dream matches on the main roster, so if the Diva came back, there would be plenty of options for her next feud.
2) The Itch
Lee has thrown herself into various programs since leaving the WWE, such as her work on finding homes for dogs, but at some point, every competitor gets the itch to return. The two-time Diva of the Year loved wrestling and it must be hard to walk away from it after having such a successful career.
Lee is only 28 and was just starting to reach her potential as an in-ring worker and a character. She should return to the company instead of depriving herself and her fans of what could have been an even better career. Sure, there are options elsewhere, but the WWE is the No. 1 promotion in the world.
3) Awkward Adjustment
To say Lee's husband and the WWE were on bad terms during the final part of her tenure is a gross understatement. Punk lambasted the company publicly, going as far as to call out Triple H and Vince McMahon on his friend Colt Cabana's podcast, all while Lee was still gainfully employed.
Despite what was surely a rocky situation, Lee remained a part of the company after Punk walked out in January 2014 and she lasted all the way until last April. If she could deal with the awkwardness the last few months of her tenure brought, perhaps she can overcome the current lawsuit and return to the fold.
