The Dallas Cowboys were previously linked to Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin III, but recent reports indicated that they are not interested in both free-agent quarterbacks this summer.

The Cowboys are looking for a quarterback who could eventually take Tony Romo's place. Manziel was mentioned as a possible target this summer after team owner Jerry Jones admitted that he wanted to draft Manziel in 2014.

Recent reports also indicated that Jones will express strong interest in Manziel once the former Texas A&M standout becomes available. But according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys want not piece of Manziel and will not even talk to his representatives once the quarterback "gets his life back in order."

"A source said the club has no intention of bringing the former Heisman Trophy winner in for a visit or signing him now that he's been released by Cleveland," Moore said. "That same source said the Cowboys won't pursue the quarterback and doesn't foresee the club having any serious discussions about him."

Manziel was viewed as a potential franchise cornerstone when the Browns selected him as 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. However, the 23-year-old quarterback failed to make an impact because of his off-field issues during his first two seasons in the league.

Manziel entered rehab last year, but was still involved in different incidents after the treatment. He reportedly hit his ex-girlfriend, was seen partying during a bye week, and was spotted in a casino in Las Vegas while under concussion protocol.

The final straw for Cleveland came in January, as Manziel was involved in domestic violence, prompting the Browns to finally end their ties with the troublesome quarterback, who went 2-6 as a starter in two seasons.

Meanwhile, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports also revealed that the Cowboys will also not make a move to acquire Griffin this offseason. RG3 was also mentioned as a potential signing for the Cowboys after the Washington Redskins parted with him earlier this month after not playing in a single game last season.

According to Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys is more likely to sign Colt McCoy, who, like RG3, was also a backup to Redskins starting quarterback Kirk Cousins last season.
